A Championship Spirit

At Southern University Laboratory School, having a championship spirit is ingrained in our students' DNA.  Our highly qualified coaches work with our students to hone their athletic skills through healthy competition while learning the value of hard work, dedication, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship simultaneously. We value success on and off the playing field.

Our coaches acknowledge that training the body fuels the mind; therefore, we consider athletics an integral part of a well rounded education. SULS is committed to providing opportunities for as many students as possible to take part in extra curricular activities with the understanding that it is a privilege to compete as a team member for the school. The administrative team, faculty, staff, and alumni do not subscribe to the idea of winning at all costs; however, the athletics program provides the training and conditioning necessary to allow our athletes to compete at the highest levels.

We currently field seven varsity sports, and proudly offer sports at the middle school and sub-varsity level as well. By high school, our Kittens are fierce competitors at the district, regional, and state level,  with a number of them not only attaining state titles each year, but also signing national letters of intent to play at the collegiate level after graduation.
