Thank you for your interest in choosing Southern University Laboratory School for your child(ren)’s academic future. Once you have completed the application, you must submit the application and application fee to the office by the deadline.

Enrollment Dates for Spring 2024 and 2024-2025 School Year

Current SU Lab Families and SUBR Employees

Monday, October 30, 2023, through Sunday, November 12, 2023,

General Open Enrollment

Monday, November 13, 2023, through Wednesday, January 31, 2024.


Foundation Fellowship Scholarship

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fifth through twelfth grade ONLY.

  • Minimum 3.5 GPA in core subjects (Math, Science, English, Social Studies) from the previous school year.

  • “Mastery” or above in two tested areas on the standardized test (LEAP)

  • Clean disciplinary record.

  • Tuition from the previous year must be paid IN FULL.

SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT:

  • $1,250.00 per semester (Tuition ONLY)

  • All school fees are the responsibility of the parent/guardian. School fees are to be paid by the established registration deadline. Failure to pay school fees by the registration deadline will result in revocation from Southern University Laboratory School. Families who receive a Foundation Fellowship Award will not be granted a deferment.

First – Fifth Grade (1st- 5th)

First – Fifth grade applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher in core subjects (Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies). Students must maintain a 3.5-grade point average for continuous enrollment at the Southern University Laboratory School.

Third-Fifth grade applicants must score at the Mastery level in ELA and MATH on state-mandated assessments in order to be considered for enrollment.

Copy of DIBELS results for students entering grades 1st – 3rd ONLY are needed to complete the application process.

A behavioral statement from a prior school and two teacher recommendation forms must be provided for application consideration.


Sixth – Twelfth Grade (6th – 12th)

Sixth-Twelfth grade applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher in core subjects. Applicants must maintain a 3.5 grade point average for continuous enrollment at the Southern University Laboratory School.

Sixth through Eighth grade applicants must score at the Mastery level in ELA and MATH on state-mandated assessments in order to be considered for enrollment.

High school applicants must submit End of Course Exam (EOC) results. Applicants must score at least a Good on EOC Exams. A behavioral statement from prior school and two teacher recommendation forms must be provided for application consideration.
