The Office of Development and Advancement supports the mission of the Southern University System Foundation and the Southern University Laboratory School. It is critical that we continue to develop strong relationships with our faculty and students while connecting them to alumni, friends, and organizations.
We work with donors and supporters to help them understand the Office of Development and Advancement’s role in providing an outstanding education to future leaders of America while connecting donors with opportunities for partnership with the Laboratory School. Philanthropic gifts to Southern University Laboratory School are housed in the SUS Foundation.
The mission of the SUS Foundation to secure financial support for each of the five campuses of the Southern University System; to provide broader educational advantages for our students, encourage research among our faculty, and advance the University’s role in helping to build an increasingly functional Louisiana. Support for Southern University Laboratory School is an investment in the future—for our students, our school, and our community.
The Foundation encourages and receives philanthropic gifts and bequests, including both restricted and unrestricted gifts. The Foundation also manages the investment of endowed funds and other private assets. Your gift provides scholarships and increased financial aid to support highly qualified future leaders in their intellectual growth and development.
Tuition and fees alone do not fulfill the promise of a “Laboratory School” education. Gifts to the foundation provide us with an opportunity to go above and beyond as we continue to educate our students. Gifts received are not intended to replace state funds and/or tuition. It enhances our already world-class faculty, academic programs and expands course offerings and learning opportunities. It also leverages our service-oriented cultural, community outreach and improves our campus environment.
