Our girls have a goal to sell 3,400 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies in total as a troop. Every box counts. The proceeds from cookie sales go back into our school's troop as well as the local Girl Scouts community. Cookie sales help aide in supporting our girls to participate in many amazing Girl Scout opportunities throughout the year. Thank you for supporting us and helping our troop to stand out from the rest. 

SAVVI Magazine is looking for students (Ages 4-19) who are interested in modeling. If you are interested SAVVI Kids magazine will be coming to Louisiana with designers from across the country. Casting is Saturday, February 4, 2023 (the show will be in the spring). You can sign up by clicking the link).

The Southern University Office of Traffic and Parking is a division of the Southern University-BR Police Department.  This office is responsible for controlling the movement of vehicular traffic and enforcing parking regulations on the campus.  The Traffic & Parking Regulations require all students, faculty and staff parking on campus to register their vehicle, purchase a parking permit and park in their designated parking area during the zone parking hours of 7:00AM – 5:00PM Monday-Friday.

Next week, December 12 - 16, 2022, school will be in session with Wednesday, Thursday and Friday December 14-16, being half days. Students will be dismissed at noon on those days, and there will be no extended day so please plan accordingly. Click the post to see more information.

Southern University Laboratory School sent 19 students ranging from grades 7th-11th to the 61st YMCA Youth & Government Conference held in Baton Rouge, LA. Organized by State Director Jeremy Miller and Isha Matta, the conference was December 1-3, 2022.

We are happy to announce that Southern University Laboratory Virtual School scored a 66.2 C for the 2021-2022 school year! This program has shown tremendous growth even during a global pandemic. The school began with a 40.2 F in 2018-2019. While most schools struggled post COVID SULVS continued to improve academically as a result of uninterrupted learning due to the virtual environment. Congratulations!!!

STEM NOLA is providing a FREE opportunity for family fun & STEM Learning as we expose and inspire future Innovators, Creators, Makers and Entrepreneurs in New Orleans and surrounding areas! Attendees will learn about opportunities in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) as they engage with more than 60+ STEM activities and demonstrations. All required materials will be provided when students arrive. The IN-PERSON STEM FEST will be held Dec. 10 from 9:00am - 12:00pm in New Orleans, LA 70127 at Joe W. Brown Park - 5601 Read Blvd.

The National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) Youth Committee will host a virtual panel discussion entitled “Real Talk: A Candid Conversation about Dating Abuse.” The panelist will consist of students and law enforcement as they discuss some of the most pressing issues relating to dating abuse among young people. The moderator will be Mrs. Twahna P. Harris, founder and executive director of the The Butterfly Society. The panel will begin at 6:00 pm and conclude at 7:30 pm.

We are in the process of preparing for the annual Youth & Government session for the 2022 school year. This year's meeting will take place December 1-3 at the Holiday Inn South on Airline Hwy. High schools from across the state will come together honing in on their legislative skills.

The Southern University Laboratory School Centennial Homecoming Dance will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 8:00 PM - 12:00 AM at the Joel Hawkins Gymnasium. The tickets are $10 and may be purchased online at https://sulabschool.com/new-products/suls-centennial-homecoming-dance.

SULS is proud to offer an exclusive Lab School Girl Scout Troop this year! Girls grades 2nd through 6th are welcome to sign up and participate in a Girl Scout year full of fun and creating awesome memories. Meet and Greet for the 2022 school year will be August 06, 2022. Elementary will start at 9:30 am followed by Middle/High School at 10:30 am. We will have brief introductions in the Joel Hawkins Gymnasium (SULS Gym). Parents who have registered (initiated tuition payment) will receive their child’s schedule followed by multiple tables introducing clubs and organizations.

Southern University Laboratory School will participate in free COVID testing again this year with the Safer, Smarter Schools Program.
