Welcome
I hope you are enjoying your summer and preparing for the upcoming school year. We would like to congratulate the students who successfully completed the summer S.W.A.G., Enrichment, & BAYOU camps. Scholarship is one of the pillars that is at the foundation of our beloved institution, and I want to emphasize that learning never stops.
The SULS faculty and staff are excited and ready to embrace the opportunities that are in front of us. As we start the process of coming through the end of the pandemic, it is important to know that we have “work to do.” Learning remotely, starting school, stopping school, etc. paved the way for learning gaps to take place. As we start the 22-23SY we are implementing new strategies to start the learning recovery process. Please understand, LEAP 2025, ACT standards, and graduation requirements have not changed, and we must continue to prepare for the passing of the standardized assessments.
In closing, the new school year is quickly approaching, so we wanted to provide you with important information relative to SULS. The first day of school is Monday, August 8, 2022. Orientation/Meet the teacher will take place Saturday, August 6, 2022. Outlined in this newsletter you will find pertinent dates and information for you to prepare for the start of the 2022 school year. If you have any questions please contact the school at (225) 771-3490 or email at info@sulabschool.com.
