Summer reading is essential for students as it helps students maintain skills while school is out, and it also improves reading skills such as phonics, fluency, spelling, vocabulary,and comprehension. Research shows that children who participate in summer reading increase their motivation, confidence, and enjoyment. Studies also suggest that summer reading fosters growth in knowledge and critical thinking skills.
