During the second semester of the 2020-2021 school year all students were able to eat for free via SSO or Seamless Summer Option. The US Department of Agriculture and Louisiana Department of Education has announced the release of new Child and Nutrition waivers that will allow SULS to continue to serve free meals (breakfast and lunch) to all students during the 2021-2022 school year. Southern University Laboratory School is a tuition-based school, and in order to operate properly and effectively, we must have sufficient funds in place. As we continue to maximize the learning opportunity for our students, it is imperative that families not only fulfill their financial obligations, but also pay them in a timely manner. Beginning the 2021-2022 school year, students must be current in their tuition and fees prior to the start of school.

The Virtual beginning Agricultural Youth Opportunities Unlimited Program provides an opportunity for high school students to gain “first hand” knowledge about career opportunities in Agriculture, Family and Consumer science and related disciplines. The program will be delivered virtually as we continue to fight our way through the COVID-19 Pandemic.

In order to maximize the opportunity to polish and strengthen skills in math and ELA while having fun through interactive, hands-on activities, and games, we are offering a half day summer program for our students. This will also give us an opportunity to fill in gaps academically that may have occurred due to COVID-19 and its effects on learning.

SUBR: College of Science Engineering (COSE) will broaden the access of students to STEM careers by exposing the participants to available options in an environment that facilitates intellectual exchange, academic enrichment, and fosters the learning, sharing, and growing processes.

Southern University Laboratory School is excited to announce that we will be hosting our summer enrichment program, S.W.A.G.-STEM, writing and agriculture. Students in grades kindergarten through 6th grade can participate in academically enriched activities that are fun and engaging, and hands-on activities that are rich in STEM, argumentative writing, agriculture and physical education.

YES Academy’s ACT bootcamp affords students the opportunity to reach their full academic potential. Through this intense, 6-week camp, students will be provided unparalleled test preparation services, academic counseling, and mentoring. The program is designed to enhance student achievement on the ACT, PSAT, and SAT as well as to provide fun and exciting enrichment activities.

The Engineering Summer Institute (ESI) is a longstanding summer program designed to create an awareness of opportunities which exist in engineering science – particularly civil, electrical and mechanical engineering - and to stimulate an interest more generally in STEM.

The three-week program will be held at the Louisiana Bar Center and is scheduled on June 14, 2021 – July 2, 2021. Students who complete the program will be eligible for a stipend of up to $250.00! Students must provide their own transportation to the program.

Urban Restoration Enhancement Corporation is accepting applications for the College & Career Ready Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Institute for Baton Rouge are high school students. The CNA Institute, presented in partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation, will take place April 12 – June 16, 2021. The deadline to apply is March 26, 2021.
