School Closure Notice – Southern University Laboratory School

Southern University has received a threat involving potential violence on campus. In coordination with university officials and law enforcement, the campus was placed on lockdown earlier today. 

Effective immediately, all campus activities and classes are cancelled for Thursday, September 11, and Friday, September 12. As a result, SULS will be closed as well. The safety of our students, staff, and families remains our highest priority.

All after-school, extra-curricular activities, sporting events, and after-care will be postponed until further notice. Alternative plans are being made for the home football game against Carroll High School. We will provide additional information as it becomes available. 

We understand this situation may cause concern, and we appreciate your cooperation and calm response as we work to ensure everyone’s safety. Continue to monitor the official Southern University Laboratory School social media channels, the school’s app, and website for updates.
