SULS HBCU College Tour 2026: Alabama State, Tuskegee & Florida A&M
Southern University Laboratory School is excited to offer our students an unforgettable HBCU College Tour experience on October 30–31, 2026!
This two-day experience will give SULS students an opportunity to explore three historic Historically Black Colleges and Universities, experience college life firsthand, and conclude the trip by cheering on the Southern University Jaguars as they take on the Florida A&M Rattlers in Tallahassee!
Our HBCU Tour Stops
Friday, October 30
Alabama State University — Montgomery, Alabama
Tuskegee University — Tuskegee, Alabama
Overnight stay in Bainbridge, Georgia
Students will begin the day with an early departure from Southern University Laboratory School. They will visit Alabama State University and Tuskegee University before traveling to Bainbridge for dinner, an evening group activity, and an overnight hotel stay.
Saturday, October 31
Florida A&M University — Tallahassee, Florida
Southern University vs. Florida A&M University Football Game
Bragg Memorial Stadium
Kickoff: 2:00 PM
After touring FAMU, students will enjoy lunch before heading to Bragg Memorial Stadium to experience one of the most exciting traditions in HBCU culture—Southern University vs. Florida A&M!
Following the game, the group will depart Tallahassee for Baton Rouge.
Trip Cost: $250 Per Student
The student participation fee is $250 and includes:
Charter bus transportation
Hotel accommodations
Meals
College campus visits
Southern University vs. FAMU game ticket
The actual cost of the trip exceeds $250 per student. Southern University Laboratory School is actively raising funds to cover the remaining balance so that we can make this experience as affordable as possible for our families.
Registration Will Take Place in Two Phases
Because seating is limited, families should carefully review the registration process.
Phase I: Grade-Level Seat Allocation
During Phase I, a specific number of seats will be reserved for each grade level. Students must complete the official Google Form to be considered for a seat.
Phase I closes September 15, 2026.
If all seats assigned to a grade level are filled, additional students from that grade level will be placed in the overflow group.
Phase II: Remaining Seats
After September 15, any seats that remain available will be offered to students in the overflow group in the order their Google Form submissions were received, based on date and time.
Submitting the Google Form DOES NOT guarantee or confirm a seat.
How Is My Seat Confirmed?
The registration process has three steps:
1. Complete the Google Form.
The date and time of your submission will establish your registration order.
2. Receive the payment link.
If a seat is available for the student, the parent/guardian will receive a link to submit the $250 payment.
3. Submit payment within 72 hours.
Families will have 72 hours from the time the payment link is sent to complete payment. Once payment is received, the student's seat will be officially confirmed.
If payment is not received within the 72-hour window, the seat may be offered to the next student on the overflow list.

This experience is about more than visiting campuses. We want our students to see themselves walking across college campuses, pursuing degrees, building relationships, and continuing the proud legacy of HBCU excellence.
From Alabama State to Tuskegee to Florida A&M, our students will have an opportunity to experience the history, culture, academic opportunities, and traditions that make HBCUs special.
