Celebrating Excellence: Harmoni Proctor, Class of 2026, Named UREC Ronnie Edwards Scholarship Recipient
Southern University Laboratory School proudly congratulates Harmoni Proctor, Class of 2026, on being selected as the 2026 Ronnie Edwards Scholarship recipient by the Urban Restoration Enhancement Corporation (UREC). This recognition celebrates not only Harmoni's academic achievement, but also the leadership, service, determination, and career preparation that have defined her journey at Southern University Laboratory School. Throughout high school, Harmoni intentionally took advantage of opportunities designed to prepare her for life beyond graduation. Her experiences included leadership, community service, dual enrollment, and career-focused programming, all aligned with her goal of becoming a neonatal nurse. (Urban Restore)
From the Classroom to a Career Pathway
One of the most significant steps in Harmoni's preparation was her participation in the UREC Academy Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program for high school students. Harmoni successfully completed the program and earned her CNA certification as part of a cohort that achieved a remarkable 100% pass rate on the state licensing examination. (Urban Restore)
This accomplishment represents exactly what we want for our students at Southern University Laboratory School: opportunities to connect academic learning with meaningful, real-world experiences before they leave high school.
Harmoni's accomplishments extend well beyond career preparation. She served as president of her senior class, graduated magna cum laude with a 3.82 GPA, and received more than $100,000 in scholarship offers. Through dual enrollment, she also accumulated enough college credit to begin her studies at Southeastern Louisiana University as a second-semester freshman, where she will major in nursing.
