SULS SeaPerch Team Dives Into STEM at McNeese Competition

This past weekend, Southern University Laboratory School’s SeaPerch team made a splash at the McNeese State University SeaPerch Regional Competition! Representing both Middle and High School divisions, our students showcased their engineering skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork as they navigated the exciting world of underwater robotics.

SeaPerch is a hands-on STEM program that challenges students to build and operate remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) to complete complex underwater tasks. The competition offered our students an opportunity to apply real-world engineering principles in a fun and challenging environment, while developing critical thinking and collaboration skills.

We are especially grateful to Brandi Brister with the LSU AgCenter for her continued support, expert guidance, and resources that helped prepare our students—affectionately known as the “Kittens”—for this competition. Her partnership played a key role in our team’s success and growth throughout the season.

Congratulations to our SeaPerch team for representing SULS with Jaguar pride! To learn more about the SeaPerch program, visit: SeaPerch Information
