SULS Partners with SU Tennis Team to Introduce Tennis to Elementary Students

Southern University Laboratory School is excited to announce a new partnership that’s sure to be a smash hit! We’ve teamed up with members of the Southern University and A&M College Tennis Team to introduce our Elementary students to the fast-paced, fun, and fundamental sport of tennis.

This exciting initiative kicks off with tennis lessons led by Miss Deang Baluck, a standout student-athlete on the Southern University Tennis Team. During Physical Education classes, Miss Baluck—alongside our very own Coach Chaney—will guide students through tennis basics, from learning how to hold a racket to developing hand-eye coordination and movement skills.

But that’s not all—students will also have the opportunity to visit and play on the Southern University Tennis Courts, gaining experience in a collegiate setting while being inspired by role models right from their own community.

This partnership reflects our commitment to providing diverse athletic experiences for our students, promoting physical activity, and encouraging them to explore new talents and interests.

We’re proud to collaborate with Southern University Athletics and can’t wait to watch our young Kittens grow and thrive on the court!
