SULS Elementary Students Dive into Ocean Commotion
This week, our third and fifth grade students from Southern University Laboratory School had the incredible opportunity to attend Ocean Commotion at LSUโs Pete Maravich Assembly Center. This is a hands-on science event hosted by Louisiana Sea Grant that brings environmental and coastal education to life for Kโ8 students.
Led by Mrs. Boudreaux (3rd Grade) and Mrs. Williams (5th Grade), our students explored interactive exhibits, met scientists and conservationists, and learned about Louisianaโs unique coastal ecosystems. From live animal encounters to STEM-based games and environmental demonstrations, Ocean Commotion offered a rich learning experience that sparked curiosity and excitement in every student.
We are proud of how our Kittens represented SULS with enthusiasm and respect, and weโre grateful to LSU and Louisiana Sea Grant for providing such a meaningful educational opportunity. Events like Ocean Commotion help us reinforce our commitment to Excellence by Choice, Not by Chanceโand we canโt wait to return next year!
