SULS Elementary Students Dive into Ocean Commotion

This week, our third and fifth grade students from Southern University Laboratory School had the incredible opportunity to attend Ocean Commotion at LSUโ€™s Pete Maravich Assembly Center. This is a hands-on science event hosted by Louisiana Sea Grant that brings environmental and coastal education to life for Kโ€“8 students.

Led by Mrs. Boudreaux (3rd Grade) and Mrs. Williams (5th Grade), our students explored interactive exhibits, met scientists and conservationists, and learned about Louisianaโ€™s unique coastal ecosystems. From live animal encounters to STEM-based games and environmental demonstrations, Ocean Commotion offered a rich learning experience that sparked curiosity and excitement in every student.

We are proud of how our Kittens represented SULS with enthusiasm and respect, and weโ€™re grateful to LSU and Louisiana Sea Grant for providing such a meaningful educational opportunity. Events like Ocean Commotion help us reinforce our commitment to Excellence by Choice, Not by Chanceโ€”and we canโ€™t wait to return next year!
