We are thrilled to share that the 2025-2026 School Supply Lists and Summer Reading Lists are officially ready for you! As we prepare for another incredible school year at the Southern University Laboratory School, our goal is to ensure that every student and family feels prepared, confident, and excited about what’s to come.

Summer Reading List
All students entering grades Pre-K -12 are required to complete summer reading prior to the 2025-2026 school year start. Students will be assessed on their knowledge of the required text within the first few weeks of school. Assessments may be given in the form of written or oral book reports, group projects or Accelerated Reader tests. Students are encouraged to take notes while reading.
Reading during the summer helps keep those academic skills sharp while sparking imagination. The beginning of a new school year always brings a mix of excitement, hope, and fresh energy. At Southern University Laboratory School, we are committed to creating a supportive and enriching environment for all of our students and families.
All students are encouraged to participate in East Baton Rouge Parish Library’s Summer Reading Program. Information on the program can be found on their website at www.ebrpl.com/summerreading.
