VIRTUAL WORKSHOPS FOR PARENTS & CAREGIVERS

Our experienced team of educators are now offering virtual workshops for parents who are looking for guidance, advice, and a safe place to learn strategies for interacting with their teens. Here is a list of workshops we are currently offering (each workshop is 75 minutes): 

TALKING TO TEENS: HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS AND COMMUNICATION - APRIL 26 @ 6PM 

This session focuses on identifying and discussing aspects of healthy and unhealthy relationships; and distinguishing the difference between the three different communication styles. Parents and caregivers who attend this session will also receive strategies and resources to effectively communicate with their teens. 

ANSWERING SENSITIVE QUESTIONS RELATED TO SEXUAL HEALTH - MAY 31 @ 6PM 

This session will provide an overview of the most common STIs, including their mode of transmission, symptoms, and treatment. Parents and caregivers who attend this session will role play various sentence starters and discuss strategies to having meaningful conversations with teens about sex and STIs. 

TEENS, SEX, AND THE LAW - JUNE 28 @ 6PM 

This session focuses on consent and identifying key laws in Louisiana regarding teen sexual activity. Parents and caregivers who attend this session will receive tools and resources to support discussions around consent with their teens.
