Parking and Traffic will continue to do Permit Registration at our current satellite location in Pinchback Hall, Room 118. The extension goes from Monday, September 9, 2024, through Friday, September 13, 2024, from 8:00AM - 4:00PM. Faculty, Staff, and Students must first register online at www.permits.subr.edu before picking up your parking permit. Through this link, you are able to either pay online or pay at the satellite location (only credit card, money order, or receipt from Cashier's Office will be accepted) Please bring your physical valid driver's license with you in order to receive your parking permit (LA Wallet is accepted).
Note: All Faculty/Staff with numbered reserved spaces should have renewed their space already. The deadline to renew your space was August 30, 2024. Numbered spaces that have not been renewed will be sold to other Faculty/Staff.
The Southern University Traffic and Parking Regulations state that all vehicles (Faculty/Staff, students, visitors, and contractors) parking on campus must register for a parking permit. The valid parking permit must be displayed unobstructed at all times while parked on campus. This includes full-time, part-time, and online students as well as full-time, part-time, and adjunct teaching faculty and staff.
Please be aware that operating or parking a vehicle on campus without a properly displayed permit will result in the issuance of an “unregistered vehicle” ticket and any other violation that goes with it. A vehicle receiving three or more unregistered tickets is subjected to be immobilized and/or towed at the owner’s expense. The Traffic and Parking Officers will be diligent and consistent in ticketing unregistered vehicles parked on campus. Unregistered violation tickets will be issued starting on September 3, 2024.
During the zone parking hours of 7AM - 5PM Monday - Friday, students are NOT allowed to park in employee areas (E. C. Harrison Drive, Student Union Lot, Childcare lot, Mayberry Cafeteria Lot, Law School/T.T. Allain Lot, Fisher Hall lot, Administration Annex Lot, Human Resources Lot and all other lots designated for employee parking). Parking in these areas will subject your vehicle to be ticketed, booted, and /or towed at the driver/owner's expense.
Parking in a reserved space, fire lane, no parking area, meter space (without paying upon parking), and handicapped space (without proper credentials) will subject your vehicle to be ticketed, booted, and/or towed at the driver or owner's expense.
