Dear Parents, Students, Teachers, Staff, and Community Stakeholders,

We hope this message finds you safe and well. Due to the anticipated severe weather conditions as Tropical Storm/Hurricane Francine approaches the Baton Rouge area, Southern University Laboratory School (SULS) will be closed on Wednesday, September 11, and Thursday, September 12, 2024. This decision has been made out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of all students, faculty, and staff.

    Thursday, September 12, 2024

  • After-School Activities:
    All after-school activities scheduled for Tuesday, September 10, 2024, are canceled.

  • School Reopening:
    We plan to resume normal operations on Friday, September 13, 2024, pending any further developments in the weather conditions.

The SULS leadership team is actively monitoring the situation in coordination with the Southern University System (SUS). We will continue to stay informed through local and national weather updates to make decisions in the best interest of the community.
