Southern University Laboratory School Students Shine as ACT PreACT Rising Stars
Southern University Laboratory School is proud to celebrate a remarkable group of students who have earned recognition through the 2025 ACT PreACT Rising Stars Program. This national program honors students who demonstrated exceptional achievement on the PreACT 8/9 assessment and recognizes those whose academic performance places them among the highest-achieving students in the country.
The PreACT Rising Stars Program was created to recognize and celebrate students who excel academically while encouraging them to continue pursuing college and career readiness. Students are honored in three categories based on their performance on the PreACT 8/9 assessment. The highest-performing students are named Distinguished Scholars (top 5%), followed by Rising Scholars (next 10%), and Early Scholars (next 35%). Together, these categories recognize students whose accomplishments place them among the top-performing PreACT participants nationwide.
Rising Scholars
The Rising Scholar designation is awarded to students whose scores place them in the next 10% of highest-performing PreACT test takers nationwide. This recognition highlights academic excellence, strong potential for future success, and a commitment to learning. Recipients receive official recognition from ACT for their outstanding accomplishments.

Recipients receive an official ACT certificate recognizing their achievement.
