Alpha Enrichment Foundation Scholarship Applications Now Open for 2026 Graduates
Southern University Laboratory School is proud to share an exciting scholarship opportunity for our graduating seniors. The Alpha Enrichment Foundation, in partnership with the Beta Iota Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., has officially opened applications for the 2026 Alpha Enrichment Foundation Scholarship Program.
This annual scholarship supports young men preparing to pursue higher education at accredited four‑year universities, community colleges, or Career/Vocational/Technical programs. With a mission centered on academic excellence, leadership, and service, the Foundation offers multiple awards designed to reduce financial barriers for promising graduates.
Available Scholarships
The Foundation provides three types of awards:
Alpha Enrichment Foundation Scholarship – $1,200
For students planning to attend a four‑year university or college. The award is paid in two installments:
First installment upon proof of enrollment
Second installment upon submission of a transcript showing at least 12 credit hours completed with a minimum 2.75 GPA
Career/Vocational/Technical Scholarship – $800
For students entering an accredited technical, vocational, or career program.
Book Scholarship – $250
A one‑time award to support the purchase of college textbooks.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
Be male high school seniors graduating in Spring 2026
Reside in East Baton Rouge Parish or neighboring parishes (within 40 miles of Baton Rouge)
Complete the TOPS core curriculum
Hold a minimum 3.0 GPA
Present qualifying standardized test scores:
ACT 20+ for four‑year institutions
ACT 17+ for technical/vocational programs
Show evidence of community service or extracurricular involvement
Plan to attend a full‑time postsecondary program beginning Fall 2026

ACT or SAT scores (sealed from school)
One school‑based recommendation letter
One community service recommendation letter
One‑page personal essay
Recent color portrait (senior headshot)

Application Opens: February 15, 2026
Application Deadline: April 15, 2026
Award Decisions: On or after May 15, 2026
