Celebrating Our School Counselors During National School Counselors Week
This week, Southern University Laboratory School proudly joins schools across the nation in celebrating National School Counselors Week. We take this opportunity to recognize and honor the incredible impact our school counselors have on our students, families, and the entire Southern University Family.
At Southern University Laboratory School, our counseling department, Shanta McCall, Lasonia Brown, and Karris Story, do far more than guide academic schedules. They are trusted advocates, compassionate listeners, problem solvers, and champions for student success. Each day, they work tirelessly to ensure our students are supported academically, socially, and emotionally.
Our counselors play a critical role in helping students navigate challenges, set goals, build resilience, and prepare for life beyond the classroom. Their dedication to student well-being and their commitment to excellence reflect the core values of Southern University Laboratory School.
We are deeply grateful for the patience, professionalism, and passion that Ms. McCall, Ms. Brown, and Ms. Story bring to their work. Their service strengthens our school community and leaves a lasting impact on the lives of the students they serve.
During this National School Counselors Week, we proudly say thank you for your hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the Southern University Family. We celebrate you today and every day!
